In that battle, my money is on the hackers.

Let's look at a side-by-side, shall we?

Hackers are young, oil companies are run by old people.

Hackers have low overhead, oil companies have high overhead

Hackers are not constrained by oil prices. oil companies are at the mercy of prices

Hackers are willing to adapt to new trends and technological advances. Oil companies are notoriously stuck in the past and are slow to change

Hackers are not confined by regulations. Oil Companies are stuck abiding by laws, rules, etc.

Hackers are not protested against by self-righteous protests. Oil companies must fight against a self-righteous public

Hackers are viewed as cool. Oil companies are viewed as uncool (okay, that one doesn't really matter)

Have i missed anything?
