Jay McKinsey + 1,490 October 3, 2020 Belgian researchers are testing agrivoltaic power generation in a pear orchard. The first pilot project features specially designed 185 W solar panels with transparent backsheets, conventional silicon cells, and a 21% efficiency rate. https://www.pv-magazine.com/2020/10/02/agrivoltaics-for-pear-orchards/
footeab@yahoo.com + 2,194 October 3, 2020 Cute fact: most plants do not want direct constant sunlight. They have a maximum number of hours required and anything beyond this actually hurts them depending on their growth cycle. What actually needs to happen is that greenhouse shade cloth needs to be made out of solar cells. Possible? Yes. Realistic? Not on your life.

Not on your life. Why not? We can already make organic light emitting diodes. All we have to do is reverse that to photoelectric effect. Cheap enough? Perhaps not. Still much more likely than commercial fusion.
