still 85% of world energy is fossil fuel????? last report out for 2021 it was 82% and declining at greater than 1 percent per year and picking up steam

This situation will only be solidified going forward?????? yeah Fossil fuels will  be declining at 2 percent a year in just a few years

2030???? 70 percent fossil fuels of total world energy including transportation

2040???? 40 percent fossil fuels of total world energy including transportation

Rome was not built in a day.

Enjoy the transition to renewable power, I am.

Here is where the Green agenda betrays its lack of basic economic knowledge.

Imposing windfall profits taxes serves to de-incentivize the investment into further production, that is basic ABC in the world of economics.

With the House now firmly in the Republican camp, it looks unlikely that this type of revenue bill could pass.

https://oilprice.com/Latest-Energy-News/World-News/Fossil-Fuel-Firms-Face-33-Windfall-Tax-In-Germany.html

"Last month, U.S. President Joe Biden said he would impose higher taxes on oil companies that record “windfall” profits without reinvesting in production, “The oil industry has not met its commitment to invest in America and support the American people,” Biden said Monday, calling the industry’s profits “a windfall of war”.

This from Bloomberg,

President’s promise will be all but impossible to deliver

Industry groups say tax would hurt US energy production"

Brave last words. The Green revolution will be compromised by science, not the propaganda science, but real science.

When? Put a date on that prediction.  You can't just say ["eventually I will be found right"] - that is not scientific.

Yeah, the companies are taking advantage of government subtleties and not re-investing in local projects as committed.

You have seen this before with bank bailouts and the execs still take big bonuses despite losses.

The science is already available.

Right now, this is just a propaganda war, but as time passes more people will get clued in the actual science.

I am betting on sooner rather than later.

You will not see increased oil production until Biden & Co. stop preaching against oil.

Holding on to ICE vehicles makes total sense. EV's cost more over the lifetime. I have explained this many times. You have deaf ears.

5.7% for renewables including all types????

thanks again for posting old data....

your data is from 2020

in 2021 it was nearing 7 percent....and increasing at a plus 1 percent rate a year and the rate is increasing each year now...IE exponential  increases

all non fossil fuels sources in 2021 was 18 percent

Hydro is not wind and solar.........so what they are all considered as clean energy producers and non carbon based

I guess one could make a statement coal is not oil or nat gas

but they are all carbon based

Hydro is not wind and solar. It is nothing new and not highly reliable.????????

Hyrdo power generation is not highly reliable????? boy do you like to babble BS

World energy production from Hydro

2021.....40.26 exajoules

2020.....41.09 exajoules

2019.....37.66 exajoules

2018.....37.34 exajoules

I will let you do a ltittle research and you can add in all the years prior to 2018......or doing research into facts is not your thing????

Hydro is one of the most reliable consistant producers of electricity

slowly increasing over time ........not moving down at all over time.....just slowly moving up

Ron,

Your point was solid; unfortunately, the greenies are deaf and dumb to anything said that doesn't fit into their narrative is white noise.

How would you know that?  How many EV's have you monitored over there lifetime?

Lifetime includes replacing the power plant at regular intervals, which is a huge problem for EVs.

The costs of entering the EV space is prohibitive for lower income families or individuals. The idea of electric auto travel is not an answer to any perceived problem.

If yo didn't have old data you wouldn't have any data at all since that is all you are capable of producing. The 2023 Chevy Bolt starts at $26K:

I didn't say that at all.

I do know, however, that ICE cars break down plenty.

Honest data for a cost of ownership comparison will take a long time to collect.  There are fewer moving parts in a EV so they may be more reliable.

High entry cost often yields a more reliable product. One high-quality pair of boots may last longer then 3 cheap pairs and end up net cheaper in the log run.

Yes, it may be a privilege of the wealthy.  Wealth brings cost savings; poverty brings debt and interest.

If it made sense for average income earners to drive EVs, they would be doing it.

Of course, you rely on fossil fuels to propel your own vehicle.

You are still part of the fossil fuel brigade, right?

Again, this is  like scratching the surface of your skin, there is only a miniscule impact on the big picture.

Over 99% of the transportation sector is committed to fossil fuels and oil. No real change with this news, and hey, you are still committed to a fossil fuel vehicle yourself, Jay.

Happy driving.

You are wrongly assuming people act sensibly.  Just look at the news, a huge fraction of people are idiots!  Following the behaviour of the filthy masses will probably make you fat and broke.

I will buy an EV when my car wears out.  I don't drive that much so it could be a long time.

As I predicted, you are committed to a fossil fuel vehicle.

That is also true of the vast majority of Green agitators.

I wont buy an EV until it does a genuine 500 miles+ in the cold with the heating on full blast.

I will buy one when that is a reality which seems a long way off with current battery technology.

I drive a 2 year old BMW 330e PHEV and it claims to give you 41 miles of electric driving. Yesterday in the cold it gave me 18 miles and when you put the heating on and heated seats it'll give you more like 11 miles. It is a great car overall but the range claims are bogus and drop by 40% within a year.

Several guys at work drive Teslas and their range claims are total fantasy!
