Jay, self-driving can never "work quite well" as you put it. You have embraced more nonsense.

We already have had self-driving planes for decades and now we also have self driving spaceships.

The only problem with self driving will be the Luddites who insist on screwing up traffic with their manual mistakes.

The latest figures show electric YoY decline....that is a disaster.

Shall we run this broken record another round?

At least you acknowledge your massive disaster in your claim that EV sales fell off a cliff between July and November. A small YoY drop, because of PHEV, is irrelevant. It will recover soon.

Oh and let us not forget that you now consider PHEV to be EV.

Ahheemmnn....

Heated argument over green dream or green nightmare and percentage of increment in EV sales...

Check this image out...

If our focus is on ice as claimed, we will never find real solution. If our only solution is all EV runned by batteries, we will never solve climate change.

It does matter for share holders, salesmen and manufacturers, their EV sales and shares are on the rise. We understand.

But to stress how important it is to replace all cars with EVs might be something else that not in the right tuning...

One can always reconfirm by having data. For example, changes in the environment e.g. air, temperature, contents of pollutants etc before and after introduction of EV in that area.

Europe is generally retiree towns and states with low car volume outside of big cities. Check data with Norway, Findland, Sweden which are highly green and EV friendly.

There are possibly more urgent things that can be done to reduce the coldness and amount of snow you experience this winter.

Merry Christmas.

No, you do not get a free pass on that, we were just parsing some data.

And happy to see that you have realized the wild folly of self-driving EVs being a disaster for the public.

Just another empty dream for the Green Grinch brigade.

Biden is playing Santa Claus this month, gifting the American driver with cheap gasoline.

The Biden & Co. urgent pleas to the oil industry to increase production have fallen on receptive ears, and now America is at an all-time high for oil production.

Thank you, Santa Claus Joe Biden!!

No matter how two faced you are you don't get to have it both ways.

By your definition then EV sales were up 16% YoY.

Glad to hear that you will be voting for Biden as more oil is being produced under his administration than Trump ever dreamed of.

The 4th quarter is almost here and every market segment is a financial disaster. Wether it is retail...manufacturing and now financials. The end is here.

Is the ESG Investment Bubble Bursting?

By Irina Slav - Dec 23, 2023, 4:00 PM CST

  • ESG funds are experiencing a decrease in new inflows and increased closures due to underperformance and investor withdrawal.
  • Regulatory tightening, greenwashing exposure, and a return to oil and gas investments contribute to the declining appeal of ESG funds.
  • Despite previous overperformance, ESG funds are now struggling as investor sentiment shifts back towards traditional energy sectors and increased scrutiny on sustainability claims.

Reuters reported this week that funds classified as sustainable saw net new inflows of $68 billion over the first 11 months of the year, which compares with $158 billion last year, per data from LSEG Lipper, the fund performance data provider owned by Reuters’ parent.

That’s quite a drop, but compared to 2021, the 2023 figure looks even worse: in 2021, net new inflows into ESG funds totaled $558 billion, LSEG Lipper data shows.

1% is a large amount.  Imagine if your Christmas cookie contained 1% lead, would you claim that is almost nothing?

Not according to the official numbers. So just more of your lies. Especially considering that if you want to now define the sector as "electrical" then we have to include HEV which grew  by 29% and far outweighs PHEV in size:

I am seeing a complete lack of your ability to do simple econometrics and solve for the correct percentages.

Jay, perhaps you could explain to us what does this have to do with econometrics?

I guess you do not even know what econometrics is, poor fellow. Otherwise you would not make such an ill-informed remark.

And you are just deflecting from that 3% collapse in electric vehicle sector sales in the November YoY.

You have given us a Merry Christmas present with your usual guff.

Keep up the trend!

President Biden has trotted out an enormous Christmas gift for the average American, historic production of oil!

The Biden Administration's desperate pleas to the oil producers to increase oil output have been answered.

Welcome to the New Age of Oil in America! Keep those fossil fuel cars rolling!

https://oilprice.com/Energy/Crude-Oil/US-Shatters-Oil-Production-Records-in-2023.html

"The U.S. produced over 4.49 billion barrels of crude oil in 2019, and this record has been exceeded in 2023.

The Energy Information Administration's data indicates that the U.S. achieved this milestone around December 15, with a conservative estimate of 13.0 million barrels per day.

Alongside oil, the U.S. is also on track to set a new production record for natural gas this year."

Politics has taken over our energy forum. In order to foment a return to the original intention of this forum, going forward, all threads of a divisive political nature that have nothing to do with energy in any form will be locked and deleted. That includes conspiracy theories of any kind, fun as they may be. Thank you for understanding. I'm sure there are many conspiracy theory forums that would be interested in such comments.

Notsonice, you surely are clueless and spout alot of rubbish, same as Jay McKinsey: Sorta wish management would start to enforce above policy.

Green energy is a oil related topic.

Politics related to energy policy is also allowed.

Begging moderators to silence alternative views is sign of weakness.  Make your arguments and win rather than beg for a pro-oil echo-chamber.

yeah trying to get people booted, with your BS post,  because you do not like their opinions and politics seems to the rage these days........

In America we still allow people to voice opinions....if you do not like them, shove off

in the oil world, Politics runs the show.....unless you think that the Saudis and Russians do not use Oil as a political and economic weapon......

Trump and his supporters, who detest the Green transition,  tried shutting down our opinions expressed through our votes, on Jan 6......how is that working out for them?????

Now the Green transition is happening ....we voted for it....sucks for you, that it is not Oil and Coal friendly........and now you attack those who vote for it by trying to suppress their opinions. Fool

maybe this it not the forum for you........as you do not like the facts the Green transition is happening and Coal is toast in the US and Oil will follow in the footsteps.......Good riddance to those who think they can spew anything they want into the public space.

why are you are not attacking your pal Eco for him injecting politics into the forum??????

PS put a cork in it,  you senile old fart, we have too many methane emissions already.....

Sleepy Joe is in charge and the Green Transition moves ahead one solar panel at a time
