After looking at the article I'm wary. The article get enthusiastic about the need for lithium - sure - but doesn't say anything about the new process until about half way through and then we are only told it uses salt. Didn't see anything about how far the process is from commercialisation. Glanced around online.. there is a start up which uses  "materials called ion-exchange beads" for lithium extraction and another Australian venture mentioned about a year ago. Before I become enthusiastic about Lithium extraction I'd like to know more..
