If the Chinese are pragmatic (which I think they are), I think this delays any forced reunification with Taiwan by at least a decade. I have nothing against the Russian people btw, I greatly admire Russian culture, history, and science achievements. But at least in America, if we have a shitty leader, we can kick them out in 4 years and control the blast radius of the damage they can cause. Hopefully democracy works out better for Russia the next time it's tried- i know the '90s left a terrible stain in many Russians minds, but it seems to have worked out much better in other parts of eastern europe.
