"Russia will stop 'in a moment' if Ukraine meets terms - Kremlin" by Reuters via Yahoo News...but Reuters suddenly cut out the balanced part of the story.

NotSoNice, I guess you don't like people to have freedom of choice, but rather people to be led by covert propagandists who wish to rule over you.

Crimea has over a 90 percent Russian population.............what a load of BS........You obviously are not an intelligent person.....How much is Putin paying you to post your nonstop BS babble????????

I bet you do not like Humanity.....With all of your low IQ posts on trying to convince people not to get vaccinated, one can only come to the conclusion you enjoy watching people die.

Well, when President Trump referred to Austrians as Australians, and Pres Biden referred to Ukrainians as Iranians, and 90% of Americans cannot locate Crimea on a map, then little wonder drugged-up dumbed-down Americans are confused. Wilful Ignorance is Wilful Bliss.

Agree, to say Crimea is 90% ethnic Russian is incorrect. Today, Crimea is about 75% Russian and 15% Tatar, which sums to 90%. Admittedly, these are rough figures. Prior to the referendum to join Russia, about 15% of Crimea was ethnic Ukrainian.

The interesting fact is over 90% of the Crimea population voted in favour of joining Russia. This means part of the Ukraine minority voted in favour. I surmise they could see the dangers that lay ahead, and decided to be part of a richer country.

96% to be precise.

However, that was a "miraculous" jump when only 45% wanted to remain adjoined to Russia in the early 90s during the vote for Ukrainian independence.

Why the increase? Because anyone who disagreed, which is like half of Crimea, boycotted the referendum.

That referendum was held at gunpoint with many Russian forces, uniformed and non-uniformed, having entered the provence.

Russia and about 10 other countries are the only countries that recognize the annexation.

You will need to quote your sources; independent sources, not the USA control-the-narrative sources.  My sources question whether the 45% you quote relates to the whole of Ukraine. You will need to prove Russia sent troops into Crimea in sufficient numbers and forces to control the entire population at gun point. Nothing of the sort was reported by local media in Crimea. Your claim the voters were subjected to duress is false. Crimea was never pro-Ukraine: it was and is pro-Russia.

SO, LET'S SEE YOUR PROOF. Thank you.

54% voted in 1991 for Ukrainian independence. This was the lowest, but still the majority, like it was everywhere in Ukraine:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1991_Ukrainian_independence_referendum#By_region

A 2013 poll said 55% wanted Crimea to keep the status quo, which was autonomy inside of Ukraine:

https://web.archive.org/web/20171010120516/http://www.iri.org/sites/default/files/2013 October 7 Survey of Crimean Public Opinion, May 16-30, 2013.pdf

A sudden jump to 96.8% in one year is farcical.

As always with amurcuns, sources used are the usa-control-the-narrative sources. fact: such sources are lies.  Wikipedia is not much better; for it too uses dubious sources and is known to be entirely erroneous for key political issues.

But let's consider your dubious wikipedia source. The table shown in your link states ONLY 36% of Crimea voted yes. Not 54% as you claim. This implies 64% of people in Crimea were NOT in favour of independence from Russia.

So either you are an ignoramus, or you are feebly attempting to create your own narrative. But the facts belie anything you say.

So your saying those 17 or so languages can draw borders and have a country if they are not Russian? New world logic? Lol China jails and retrains the wrong ethnicity. Rules the Tibet with a strong arm. Don’t they have 27 languages? Took the American phone to get them talking. Lol You play games with words, talk about your thuggery. The history of your thuggery. Your cathedrals glorifying thuggery. Even Japan who historically kicked Chinas butt until the US saved them cut Putins banking. That’s what you should be worried about. They don’t think of the greater good like the woke do.

If Putin banned 11 opposition parties under the pretext of war, just as Zelensky has done today, Western media would be likening it to a Stalinesque purge.

But CNN told me he was fighting for "democracy."

Putin's war in Ukraine is his vanity war; how can you have 150-190,000 troops and fuck up his invasion!

These troops are far less trained to fight or sit on the border, so long they become ineffective.

Putin underestimates the ability to enter Ukraine and grab territory, let alone install a puppet government.

China, in the meantime, has to be wondering if they should have come out backing Putin because they no see the repercussions of the world on Russia.

Russia is just leveling population areas that have nothing to do with the military.

He has NO RULES FOR ENGAGEMENT, or the Russian Generals are not following it.

The world is watching. Those who are evil are turning their eyes away and saying so what, it isn't me. Those who befriend Putin and his generals and their followers will all pay a high price eventually, both on earth or in the afterlife. Those that defend their homeland from the aggression will be forgiven. Just like defending your own home. They are no better than Hitlers army that killed millions of Russians. Russia also killed many in Eastern Europe and enslaved them under communism.

Yes indeed Ukrainians will vanquish Russians with their weapons from far more countries than what you depict. Also many from Russian and Ukrainian factories. Turkish drones are playing a major part also.

Just as in any good army their are sufficient soldiers behind the lines to back up those on the front lines and in between. This is actually a worldwide support system for a peaceful country being attacked by siege warfare. America once helped Russia in the same way. It looks like we helped them a little too much.

America has always had, and still does, a large communist, socialist, fellow traveler group here. My step-father was one. He was also a true believer like some on this site.

So, I have no right to defend my home? And, if I do, I am the next Hitler in your eyes?

uh, the people of the Donbass were shelled for 8 years by the people of the Ukraine. In the Donbass, civil rights were removed; no right to vote, to language, to schools, etc. So by defending themselves against military aggression, in your eyes they are all Hitler disciples?

But CNN told me he was fighting for "democracy."

Lets see:

"The Opposition Platform for Life, Ukraine’s biggest opposition party, is led by Viktor Medvedchuk, a pro-Moscow oligarch with close ties to the Russian president, Vladimir Putin. Medvedchuk, a longtime ally of Putin, is believed to be the godfather of Medvedchuk’s daughter. Ukraine said Medvedchuk escaped house arrest three days after Russia started its invasion of Ukraine on 24 February and his whereabouts are currently unknown. Some rumors are that he has fled to Russia. The list of parties banned on Sunday also included the Nashi (Ours) party led by Yevhen Murayev, as well as a number of smaller parties not represented in the parliament. Prior to the start of the war, British intelligence claimed that Russia was considering installing Murayev or Medvedchuk to lead a Kremlin-controlled puppet government in Kyiv."

So these suspended parties have clear links to Russia. Which is dangerous given that country has invaded Ukraine. Democratic ideals are great and all, but they don't mean much if the state crumbles because of bad faith political actors within the government. It's a war. The only way Ukraine's democratic progress continues is if the current government survives the conflict, not if there are people in the government collaborating with Russian occupation forces who have committed violence and want to turn it into Kremlin's puppet like Belarus.

After the war is over, these parties are likely to be back in some fashion or another, at least those who have not collaborated with the Putin regime. However, given they were already a pretty weak force after 2014 and the 2019 elections, 2022 will effectively kill them. Putin moment.

It's turning into summer soon; if the Ukrainians hold out Putin will most likely be overthrown.

If though they brought crematories on wheels Russia can not hide the fact that they have lost so many in what Front line soldiers were told we're training exercise and back home something totally different.

Mothers in Russia and kids under 23 will see the sons, Brothers, Fathers, Uncles come back dead and Putin will be fucked.

Lastly, all the Russian billionaires are have assets seized all over the world, they are in bed with Putin, at what point are they going to say “Fuck This” and remove this Baby and Mother killing Bastard!

They seceded from their country with the help of Russia, they were traitors and did not deserve to be funded by Ukraine. I am sure that many there would have preferred to be left in Ukraine but Putin decided for them.

I really have no proof of anything you claimed, Maybe you could try to provide some? I doubt it would hold any water. Everything coming out of Putin and his crew are lies.

Highly doubtful, but keep the hope!

People remember to take the predictions of most of these people with a giant grain of salt; their track record is abysmal.  If anything just assume the opposite of what they write.

Once you have a billion does a second billion seized really matter?

Those guys will remain loyal to the powers who made them insanely rich.

Don't worry about the billionaires, I assure you they are still living very comfortably.

Russians are now worse off than they were before Putin attacked Ukraine. Their youth are being killed in Ukraine. They are pariahs on the world stage. Their allies people are all equally poor. Whenever there is a war people lose buying power but the West lives at a much higher level. China needs our business but must be continually shown how badly it does. It will not need as much oil or natural gas if we reduce our purchases. That needs to be our next move. The poorest people in the West live much better than the average Russian or Russian ally's people. I do not blame the Russian people, most are good folk, but Putin, his cronies and followers are evil doers.
