Well, when President Trump referred to Austrians as Australians, and Pres Biden referred to Ukrainians as Iranians, and 90% of Americans cannot locate Crimea on a map, then little wonder drugged-up dumbed-down Americans are confused. Wilful Ignorance is Wilful Bliss.

Agree, to say Crimea is 90% ethnic Russian is incorrect. Today, Crimea is about 75% Russian and 15% Tatar, which sums to 90%. Admittedly, these are rough figures. Prior to the referendum to join Russia, about 15% of Crimea was ethnic Ukrainian.

The interesting fact is over 90% of the Crimea population voted in favour of joining Russia. This means part of the Ukraine minority voted in favour. I surmise they could see the dangers that lay ahead, and decided to be part of a richer country.

Why the increase? Because anyone who disagreed, which is like half of Crimea, boycotted the referendum.

Yes indeed Ukrainians will vanquish Russians with their weapons from far more countries than what you depict. Also many from Russian and Ukrainian factories. Turkish drones are playing a major part also. 

Just as in any good army their are sufficient soldiers behind the lines to back up those on the front lines and in between. This is actually a worldwide support system for a peaceful country being attacked by siege warfare. America once helped Russia in the same way. It looks like we helped them a little too much.

The only way Ukraine's democratic progress continues is if the current government survives the conflict, not if there are people in the government collaborating with Russian occupation forces who have committed violence and want to turn it into Kremlin's puppet like Belarus.

After the war is over, these parties are likely to be back in some fashion or another, at least those who have not collaborated with the Putin regime. However, given they were already a pretty weak force after 2014 and the 2019 elections, 2022 will effectively kill them. Putin moment.

Russians are now worse off than they were before Putin attacked Ukraine. Their youth are being killed in Ukraine. They are pariahs on the world stage. Their allies people are all equally poor. Whenever there is a war people lose buying power but the West lives at a much higher level. China needs our business but must be continually shown how badly it does. It will not need as much oil or natural gas if we reduce our purchases. That needs to be our next move. The poorest people in the West live much better than the average Russian or Russian ally's people.
