Oil price: a factor that the crude markets cannot ignore - shrinking Chinese manufacturing activity

The volatility in energy markets shows no sign of abating despite the winter season in the northern hemisphere. The price of natural gas, for instance, has come down sharply despite the two serious cold spells,  in North America and Europe. The prevailing volatility, especially in the crude oil markets,  hardly gets a boost when the manufacturing activity in the world's second largest consumer of the commodity has been on a downward trend for four successive months.
