E-car Sales Collapse

Yeah, like all the automotive manufactures are going to turn back now.  They have invested so much and have plotted their long-term plans that are focused on EVs.

You also seem to ignore the fact they keep getting cheaper...

Why can't they sell those EVs?

They are still selling, just not all of them.  Economic factors unrelated to EV's are a major player (anti-inflation measures).

The factories have been retooled, their supply chains have been reworked.  There is no going back.

The auto industry has a history of repeated failures.  In 2011 i got a car at 0% interest because nobody was buying anything.

Remember now, the ICE automotive industry took the richest city in the world and turned it into a crime filled dump.

Just like all the abandoned coal mine towns...

But the whole EV market is now backed up with unsold inventory...a disaster for you, Jay.

Not in California. Read the numbers. Legacy auto ev sales are up 125%.

EVs are a niche market and are now saturated. Any one who wants an EV already has one.

National numbers show that EVs are piling up unsold. Hey, you couldn't give one to me for free.

Nah, they just relocated to other towns and built up the economies in those locations.

Relocating when your property value has tanked is a major loss.

Right....

Only a true idiot would turn down a free car you could flip.  Don't write stupid things you know are not true.

Lots of good new jobs in the auto production industry. Helped a lot of good communities in Kentucky and other states grow well.

Other communities may have benefited from skilled labour arriving but the Detroit home owners got screwed.

Think about the individual people instead of GDP...

That is how the economy works, friend, if an industry fails in one location putting hard-earned tax dollars into subsidizing it in the wrong location is a waste of money. Investors put their private finds into locations where it makes sense to produce their output.

Well the ICE auto industry got it's big tax dollar bailout (15 billion).  No EVs to blame back then.

Ya Don't Say! Bail Out meaning free tax money, or a loan..this should be enlightening. You may need a crutch here...just a thought.

You continue to deny reality.  They got free money on top of lots of cheap loans.  Cheap loans are a form of government subsidy.

Your idea that the oil, gas, and ICE auto industries do no wrongs is funny. They have a very long history of failure.  By admitting they got a bailout you admit they failed.

From your link:

"What Is A Bailout?

A bailout is when a business, an individual, or a government provides money and/or resources (also known as a capital injection) to a failing company."

You deny they got a bailout?

I grow weary of your poor logic and posts that contribute no substance.

BYD announced record blowout sales today. Pity used prices aren't dropping quicker, but that will happen.

This "Inflation Reduction Act" is beginning to take its toll, by the end of the 1st quarter in 2024 the automotive landscape will be in a very serious state of condition..

The Collapse of the EV SPACs: Another One Goes Bankrupt, Others on the Verge

We’ll get to a bunch more charts like this in moment, with lots of scandals around them. The SPAC boom in 2020 and 2021 will surely go down in history as one of the biggest stock market heists ever. It has left behind a trail of investigations and settlements and scandals. Short sellers had a big party.
