America is the last large country that is still free. It is the only one, I know of, that has a constitution that is still followed in most cases. Freedom of speech is dying in the Western World due to active censorship, media manipulation by governmental organizations and NGOs working with the United Nations. That said, if the Democrats are able to maintain control of the presidency and congress we will most likely lose many of the freedoms we cherish. Democrats would benefit by bankrupting America because more voters would be frightened of not being "taken care of" by socialism. That always ends in disaster.

Americans today are already spied upon by the FBI, CIA, etc. at an astounding rate. They also work together with local police and partially fund them thus gaining undue influence. Local police often use electronic surveillance to the extent they can afford or get away with. The way the information is used is against conservatives who oppose big government dominance.

What I see from American posters on here is how much they value the Constitution and the rules and regulations that were laid out by "the founding fathers" within it.

However what I cant get my head around is how anybody if they truly believe in the Constitution can back Trump when he posts that those rules and regulations in the Constitution should be terminated!

Since we have won the absolute majority in our Parliament, the next prosecutor general will be 100% my person, my candidate, who will be approved, by the parliament and will start as a new prosecutor in September. He or she will look into the situation, specifically to the company that you mentioned in this issue. The issue of the investigation of the case is actually the issue of making sure to restore the honesty so we will take care of that and will work on the investigation of the case. On top of that, I would kindly ask you if you have any additional information that you can provide to us, it would be very helpful for the investigation to make sure that we administer justice in our country with regard to the Ambassador to the United States from Ukraine as far as I recall her name was Ivanovich. It was great that you were the first one who told me that she was a bad ambassador because I agree with you 100%. Her attitude towards me was far from the best as she admired the previous President and she was on his side. She would not accept me as a new President well enough.

It's been awhile but I thought I'd move down the rabbit hole many of you are still digging on here.

Ron Wagner, did you actually write this in a post on here?  Seems you did.  I feel so embarrassed for you and your utterly skewed view of the world around you and how you see things (American tunnel vision I'd call it).  You are living in a country where you are almost becoming a theocracy, absolutely dominated by religion.  In case you missed it, religion doesn't allow for much free thinking.  The previous ruling on Roe v. Wade and the latest ruling by the Alabama Supreme Court are both actually quite chilling and frightening for women in your country.  You have women who live in fear of driving to another state to receive needed medical care.  DO NOT give me any BS about how the USA is more "free" than other large countries.  It is true that you have some of the most lax gun laws in the world but that's a whole other topic really.  I am still shaking my head in wonderment at that comment.

In Canada and other countries I'm sure, it is true that we pay high taxes, no question.  It is true that we are further to the left on pretty much every issue than I am comfortable with.  But I vote as I want, work as I want, marry who I want and do as I please on a daily basis.  How are we not a free country?  Please explain.

Feb 15, 2024 — David C. Weiss, Special Counsel, made the announcement. On February 14, 2024, a federal grand jury returned the indictment and Smirnov was ...

Today, a federal court  unsealed a two-count indictment returned by a federal grand jury in the Central District of California charging Alexander Smirnov, 43,  with making a false statement, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1001, and creating a false and fictitious record, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1519, for statements he made that were recorded in an official record of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) known as a Form 1023. 

David C. Weiss, Special Counsel, made the announcement.

On February 14, 2024, a federal grand jury returned the indictment and Smirnov was arrested at the Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada, after his arrival in the U.S. from overseas.   Later today, Smirnov will have an initial appearance at the federal courthouse in the District of Nevada at 2:30 p.m. pacific time.

According to the indictment, Smirnov was a confidential human source (CHS) with the FBI.  As alleged in the indictment, despite repeated admonishments that he must provide truthful information to the FBI and that he must not fabricate evidence, Smirnov provided false derogatory information to the FBI about Public Official 1, and Businessperson 1, the son of Public Official 1, in 2020, after Public Official 1 became a presidential candidate. 

The indictment alleges that in March 2017, Smirnov reported to an FBI Agent that he had had a phone call with the owner of Ukrainian industrial conglomerate Burisma Holdings, Limited concerning Burisma’s interest in acquiring a U.S. company and making an initial public offering (IPO) on a U.S.-based stock exchange.  In reporting that conversation to the FBI Agent, Smirnov also noted that Businessperson 1, Public Official 1’s son, was a member of Burisma’s Board, a fact that was publicly known.  The indictment alleges that Smirnov provided no further information.

Three years later, in June 2020, the indictment alleges that Smirnov reported, for the first time, two meetings in 2015 and/or 2016.  As alleged in the indictment, Smirnov falsely claimed that during these meetings, executives associated with Burisma, admitted to him that they hired Businessperson 1 to “protect us, through his dad, from all kinds of problems,” and later that they had specifically paid $5 million each to Public Official 1 and Businessperson 1, when Public Official 1 was still in office, so that “[Businessperson 1] will take care of all those issues through his dad,” referring to a criminal investigation being conducted by the then-Ukrainian Prosecutor General into Burisma and to “deal with [the then-Ukrainian Prosecutor General].” 

As alleged in the indictment, the events that Smirnov first reported to the FBI Agent in June 2020 were fabrications.  In truth and fact, the defendant had contact with executives from Burisma in 2017, after the end of the administration when Public Official 1 had no ability to influence U.S. policy and after the Ukrainian Prosecutor General had been fired in February 2016. The indictment alleges that the defendant transformed his routine and unextraordinary business contacts with Burisma in 2017 and later into bribery allegations against Public Official 1 after expressing bias against Public Official 1 and his presidential candidacy.

As further alleged in the indictment, when he was interviewed by FBI agents in September 2023, Smirnov repeated some of his false claims, changed his story as to other of his claims, and promoted a new false narrative after he said he met with Russian officials.

If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of 25 years in prison.  Actual sentences for federal crimes are typically less than the maximum penalties. A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after taking into account the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

I have hundreds of stories about him alone, Biden is just as bad but not as sneaky as Obama . Hillary should be in prison for her pack of lies and misdeeds.
