America should go after China but it should be done in a wise way.

How to collapse China ?

First of all you should ensure that all university cooperation in US and EU with China is breaked. This is the first and very important step.

China uses academic cooperation to steal technology and fuse it with military technology.

There should be custom duties on ALL Chinese products, so that Apple and the like, move to other countries. It is the most important second step. Otherwise CEO of Apple will be simple Chinese servant as it is now.

Move all supply chains out of China and towards South East Asia - this would be difficult, very difficult but it is possible.

Cut all of the financial ties -  prevent US (and EU and Asian friendly like JApan, SOuth Korean) companies to invest in Chinese companies.

Change the patent law as to not honor ALL CHINESE PATENTS - it is possible but difficult, but US and EU still has enough power to do it.

Try to actively move all supply chains out of China to South - East Asia and US. Very difficult but still possible.

China would be on its own with a lot of unemployment and spare capacity - it is the only way.

In other words, enforce the old colonial structures.  Apple tried to migrate to India; how did that go?  The value-add by Apple in China is less than $1/phone. The total China exports to USA amounts to 0.6% of China GDP. The people with the greatest number of legal violations in China are the amurcuns. If amurcuns want to leave China, good riddance. Virtually everything in Walmart is imported from China. Eliminate this, and how many thousands of jobs lost?  Tesla's largest facility, market, profits come from China. US exports to China are +$150bn/yr.  I wonder how the people benefiting from those exports would react to your myopic views.

besides, what has this to do with oil/gas per se?

The total China exports to USA amounts to 0.6% of China GDP?????

and again you post no facts

here is reality

China exports to USA amounts to 3% of China GDP

China Exports to United States was US$582.76 Billion during 2022

China GDP 2022, reaching an all time high of 17963.17 USD Billion in 2022

China's GDP in 2023US$17.52 trillion.... a real drop in US dollars

2023 Imports from China to the US

$427.2 billion

love the numbers.... a drop of 160 billion $US in one year

Enjoy the recession..........

Those numbers show Biden is doing a better job than Trump did during his trade war.  I wonder if the cult zealots will notice (probably not).

That would put huge financial pressure on the lowest earning Americans who can only afford Dollar General or Walmart crap.  The US would have to become more socialist themselves and fund the poor and the industries hurt by the inevitable retaliation tariffs placed on US goods.  Farmer's got big support payouts under Trump's failed trade war.

Secondly, if the actually tarrifs work than means the USA will import less from China, this reduction in demand would depress the price of Chinese goods and other nations will take advantage of cheaper products.  The only way it would work is with international agreement on Embargos.  Good luck getting many other nations on board with that idea, China isn't doing anything terrible like Russia that would justify it.

The most destructive person operating against Chinese interests is Xi Jinping. China is self-destructing on an unprecedented scale. Outsider attempts to speed it up may backfire.

"Never interrupt your enemy when they are making a mistake"

-Napoleon (some people say it is from the Art of war but that appears to be wrong).

Even more so when they are making nothing but mistakes.
