How long are you Inders going to keep using this excuse for all your problems? I think the partition is the best thing that ever happened to India. Do you really want 200 million more Muslims as part of India? I'm surprised you didn't blame the British for the caste system too.

I have lived and worked in India and all I can say is:  What was it like BEFORE the British?  Wow, just wow.  Blaming the British for the conflicts after they left?  Proclaiming India was better before the British came?  Blaming Britain for problems now?  How many years since the British pulled out?  Talk about blaming the last administration!  Wow, just wow!

The fact of the matter is that this goes on all the time,  and Pakistan always does the same thing........  ie:  PAKISTANI TERRORISTS ATTACK INDIA,  AND BEFORE INDIA CAN RESPOND,  PAKISTAN COMPLAINS TO THE UNITED NATIONS SAYING    "HELP US,  THE MEAN INDIANS WANT TO HURT US."

Isn't is interesting how fast Pakistan always complains to the UN ?

Almost as if the Pakistani government knew in advance that the attack was going to occur....!

Personally,  i hope India wins.........

Yep, Pakistan is doing this for decades. Tell the US who supported the Pakistani islamic dictature against India since the 60's. Back in 1960 Washington and Islamabad were buddies and it's from a Pakistani airbase that the famous U2 took off. Later, the usual suspects, aka the US-Saudi-Pakistan gang created Al Qaeda in Afghanistan, the Talibans one decade later. So nice...

But one question arises : being a US citizen under a government who supports Pakistan for half a century, how can you wish an Indian victory ? Do you finally disagree with your leaders ? Good !

Indians are always going on about 'Britishers' yet fail to mention the nearly 300 year rule of the Mughal Empire. Hmmm.

Irony, considering your "name".  Its called Geopolitics.  Might want to do some reading on your part... Your notional ally today, is not your notional ally tomorrow.

USA did not ally with India, because India was going full Communist/Socialist in the 60's/70's and then went Nuclear which strained relations.  Of course so did Paki so....  India was the "notional ally" of the USSR and why the USA went after China to break them away from the USSR...  But historical facts... who needs them in your world view eh?

Yes, true.  India has border disputes with China also. But these border disputes should never become a war like situation.  China, India and Pakistan all three Asian countries have powerful military with nuke capabilities  . All are aware of  each others abilities and it is maintaining a balance in the region . India is a peace loving country and are never agressive and hostile to any country. In its 5000 years history India has never attacked any country in the World.

India has never been a country till the British made it one.  It was way too big of a place for the technology of the day to keep everyone satisfied.  Today I would argue India still is not a country at all... In 100 years?  Maybe.  SO its "history" is all of 50 years old.  Before that India has been in a continuous war of neighboring states.  Open a damned history book.  There is a reason the French and British were able to walk into India with 2 people and take over the place.  It is not because they forced the Indian's into subjugation.  The Indians opened their arms to anyone willing to help put a stop to the incessant fighting on 4 fronts due to language and religion.

Muslims in this country can become President and have been contributing for the development of  India like any people  from  other religions. India is a divine and mysterious land where so many religions can co-exists peacefully and you should been surprised for that.

Everywhere Muslims have gone, As soon as ~1/3 becomes becomes Muslim the civil wars start.  History has shown, they win them and then subjugate everyone under Sharia "Law".  After all, if you denounce being Muslim you are killed..... right in their religious texts.  No apostates are allowed.  After all it is a religion of "peace".... 😂

Partition saved the Hindus from being finally wiped out into a mass grave.

What is this SNIP?  I Googled it and this came back:

Don't be afraid. SNIP it!

Take it easy, people.  We are only discussing things; we are not here to decide what happens next, based on what happened before.

Ah, not someone who knows forum etiquette.

SNIP is used when you CUT OUT a large portion of the copied reply to make a reply easier to read in view of the original post.

There is actually a "Snip" feature embedded into a  Microsoft software package.  You go to the search bar, type in SNIP, and up comes the snip taskbar.  Tap on the "new" box, and it goes to a pale backscreen.  Now draw a bow around whatever is on the screen that you want to Snip,  hit the trigger key  (I think it is the Enter one, but I do it automatically) and the box or rectangle that you had outlined with a red border will "snip" out of there.  Now you can go back to whatever you were writing and in the next clear line, press "paste" after doing the right-click, and the Snip will appear as a Paste.

So "Snip" is both the act of snipping, as a verb, and the result, "a snip," or a Noun.  That English language;  ya gotta love it!

Either love it or go insane...  If only we used about 4-->10 more letters for true phonetic spelling instead of the smorgasboard mess it is now.  But, I guess that is what happens to a bastard language of a bastard language amalgamation of 3 other languages which has been around the world several times accumulating yet more foreign words.

EDIT: does anyone know of another language which has so many loan words?  Surely some other African language is like this.  Though I guess Filipino is pretty close to this status currently as it has massive amounts of Spanish/English in it and as someone who understands Spanish and speaks English I can watch their TV and actually follow it without captions....

"• About 80 percent of the entries in any English dictionary are borrowed, mainly from Latin.

• Over 60 percent of all English words have Greek or Latin roots.

• In the vocabulary of the sciences and technology, the figure rises to over 90 percent.

• About 10 percent of the Latin vocabulary has found its way directly into English without an intermediary (usually French)."

As a direct answer to your question about African languages, I would suggest "Afrikaans," the (former) language of South Africa, which is in large measure the unevolved Dutch of 400 years ago.

Then again, Dutch itself is some amalgam mostly of German, with tidbits from French. All of this is the legacy of people movements centuries ago.  Germanic peoples settled Holland, literally building on the bog-land and swamp-land, built dikes and canals, expanded into the frontier of France, broke up into Belgium and Nederland, absorbed waves of Protestants after the Night of the Long Knives, the murder of Protestants by the French Catholics  (the survivors who fled were called the Huguenots),  and so forth.

If you start somewhere along the Northern coast of Spain, say in some village in the Basque area, and slowly move along up to the Northeast, you will be able to speak to and understand the folks in the next village as you master each local dialect.  Start with Basque, then Spanish, then French  up along the coast, then "Normandy French," then Belgian French, then Suid-Holland, then Nord-Holland, the Fries, a separate language from Dutch, then the dialects of North Germany, then into Danmark, jump the Kattegat, the Danish Straits over to Scania and local Swedish and Norwegian,  and if you continue along the South Shore of the Baltic instead, then across Germany into Poland and up into Lithuania and Latvia,  you can understand the next village as you go.  There are no really sharp discontinuations.  For example, I can read and understand spoken Afrikaans  (but cannot speak it).  It is the same in the Caribbean, where I can grasp the essence of the local island patois in Aruba or Sint-Maarten  (Saint Martin to the Americans) but if I speak "Dutch" to them then the locals instantly understand I am from the former colonial power  (and thus loathed).  Oh, well. So now I am personally to blame for what some guys did in 1680.  Whatever.

I don't know how that shakes out in places such as Morocco, which has been under the thumb of both the Spanish and the French, usually both depending on the century.  Probably safer to just speak English there. OK, maybe Polish or Italian.  You don't want to be a "former colonialist," never know who has a long knife down at the bazaar.

How do you explain Bengladesh, formally known as East Pakistan?

It's not nearly so simple. There are plenty of muslim sectors in India, and even Catholic regions. When did Goa become a part of India?

Quick reply and then back to work... not comprehensive: Muslim sectors(actually nations): Had to draw a line somewhere or the UK would have had to recreate the many waring nation states which were fighting due to language and religion when they arrived as India internally does not have any geographic boundaries other than North/south and even then.....  The Bengalis as you pointed out are one such distinction(cut down the middle east/west).  If you open a map and look closely, this allows India to use the River system and not be locked by East Pakistan.

"Catholic" region... has 2 people in it way over in the extreme East.  I mean common man...

Pakistan has a strong enough military and intelligence agency to control a lot of these terrorists. They seem to use the various groups for their own benefits. They had no trouble hiding Osama for years. It took extraordinary measures to find him right next to one of their military bases.

As for the US dislike of India, the reason is not the socialism of the country. After all, Washington backed the Khmers rouges in Cambodia. When you support Pol Pot, you can support every regime... lol  But India was and somehow still is allied to US' arch rival : Russia.

What was your point ?

P.S.   a bit more about dissent ....

Earlier this week Gab launched our new sister product, Dissenter: the comment section of the internet. Dissenter is a browser extension and website that allows any Gab user to comment on any URL across the web. This includes Youtube videos, Wikipedia pages, Tweets, Amazon products, and CNN articles just to name a few examples. Tens of thousands of Gab users have already installed it and have begun leaving comments across the web.

Dissenter puts the power back in the hands of The People to shine a light on propaganda, lies, censorship, corruption, and sophistry across the web. Dissenter launches at a time when comment sections are no longer available on every mainstream news site and blog, YouTube is shutting down comment sections while also demonetizing channels over their comment sections, and social media censorship is the worst it has ever been.

Dissenter creates a new layer on top of the entire internet. One that is powered by The People, not Silicon Valley or the mainstream media.

You can sign into Dissenter.com with your Gab account to get started. You can also install the browser extension from the Google Chrome Extension Store, the Firefox Add-on Store, and check out our download page for other browsers.

Thank you,

Andrew Torba
