With fundamentals improving, analysts (via Forbes) pinpoint these three oil and gas companies to disappear in mergers: 

  • RSP Permian Inc
  • Callon Petroleum Co.
  • Lilis Energy Inc

Saw that story, but the analysis on divestment of non-core assets was interesting too: Argument being that the higher oil prices and better fundamentals (are they, really?) should have us looking at Devon Energy, Chesapeake, Continental Resources, QEP Resources, Oasis Petroleum, Newfield Petroleum, Apache and Matador ...

Well, sometimes a pickup in mergers is a sign of bad fundamentals, to help weather the crisis... There will always be players with money out there, looking for a bargain.
