You don't.  What I'm trying to point out here is NOTHING HAS CHANGED.  Trends that exist before Trump continue to exist after Trump.

Manufacturing PMI numbers continue to look meh.

Income inequality continues to look the same.

If you're financially f-ed under Obama, you're likely still financially f-ed under Trump.

Market continues its upwards climb under Trump and Obama.

The national debt and deficit increases.

Presidents extending the limits of their power.

Corruption in DC everywhere.

"Same shit, different administration."

Etc.

Don't know why some people like Trump and hate Obama.  Except for skin color, they're kinda the same.

Total destruction of our economy. Venezuela did it very quickly, but there are always a few despots that manage to remain wealthy and secure. Enough wealthy people survive to band together and reward enough henchmen to protect them while they rebuild the power structure. Just look around the world and you can find all the examples. Most of them call themselves socialists or progressives, or communists and claim they are out to help the people with free stuff. Our biggest advantage is that most of our people believe in our constitutional rights, especially the Second Amendment which protects all the other rights.

Ron, here is a tiny example of the rich exploiting the poor. GW would fly into Atlanta to fundraise at Lake Oconee which is about 90 miles from the airport. Poor GW would have to be driven. A few years later a long runway had been built to handle jets. Now GW and a few of the rich could land a jet. The Feds paid 25%, the Republican state paid 25% and the 75% black poor in town had the sales tax raised for a few years to pay the other 50%.

McCaine and Flake were two of my fiscal hero’s against pork spending but alas couldn’t save the poor from being exploited.

But go ahead and tell me all about that free stuff for the poor while those who write your talking points land their jets at the lakes to helicopter to their mansions.

I have a friend who has mental, alcohol, and tobacco problems does extremely well on free stuffs and suckers like me who help him out a little. I live in a fairly average mid size town, in central Illinois, that has lots of social services. This guy knows every freebie from food to nice used furniture. He lives in government housing for about $200 a month and gets free medical, bus card, clothes, food. phone for practically nothing. He has no car expense because he is too nervous to drive. This guy lives like a king! He has a beautifully decorated apartment downtown.I have been keeping an eye on him for twenty years. My minister asked me to help him out because I was a psych RN.

Being poor, for a single guy with brains is not a problem in my experience. I come from a housing project in Detroit and a relatively poor background. How about you? I would be able to enjoy life on social security alone. I might just live in a van down by the river.

How to live economically. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1pMQFr_K1JOtPZvyy7IXn6AJEbxKwEhqL3kPJfwhGKx4/edit

It's all numbers game anyway you cut it.  I assume that the rich have more money today than ever and the poor have less money today than ever.  Also, there are more rich people than ever and there are also even more poor people than ever.  There are a few people with much and many people with little.

This reminds me of a similar friend that I had.  Around 20 years ago, I went and started a business while he decided to apply for government assistance.  Today, I am saddled with business debt while he has managed to save money.  Also, my business debt is around the same amount of what he has managed to squirrel.  Thus, he made the wiser choice in the long run than I did.

The nationalization of the banks and the armament industry by the government since these are two areas that the government spends a lot of money on using these institutions and industries while accumulating very big debt on its side in the process.

Okay, new questions:

1.  Define ‘income equality’.

2.  Explain why ‘income equality’ is desired or even realistic to pursue?

I curious where these answers will lead...

Agreed. Some kinda pro Communism potentially.

There are rich people and poor people. It's happened since day 1.

What is this infamous 'equality' people are after? Why, as always, is it turned to this president v this president? How do you define and agree 'ok now we have equality'?

There's an anecdote on here of an example of the rich exploiting the poor. This proves what exactly? That you can have bad rich people? Wow what a newsflash moment in human history.

Find out why, listen to this https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=2608&v=kWjt2DbF_e8 The globalist banksters want it that way.

By the way, America has virtually no poor people by world standards! Our "poor" often live better than our working "middle class".

Yes, there are many people that exist on less than a buck a day, have no access to clean water, etc. - however, that doesn't mean the states have no poor.  "I'm on fire, but that guy is more on fire so I'm fine."

If you only look at developed nations the US has a significant homelessness problem.

Walking through Tenderloin neighborhood in San Francisco makes me sad for mankind, when you compare it to the nearby Union square where excessive wealth is flaunted.  Filthy poor and filthy rich less than 1 mile apart; a real eye-opening walk.

You can say that about any city in the world. There are homeless people within a mile of millionaires all over the world.

But of course, none of this is mentioned. Just the USA.

Probably true except for maybe some northern European nations with excellent social services.

I've traveled a bunch and have never seen such juxtaposition as I saw in San Fran.

So have I, all over the world, and there are 'filthy rich' and 'filthy poor' within a stone's throw of each other in every city and country I've been to.

In fairness to Zhong, he's making a point about the USA, but I bring you back to Doug's point. How do you define equality, what makes this admirable to persue? If this is about rich and poor and what can we do then fine. But it's not about these questions is it?

Zhong's point is ''same shit, different administration''. Fine. So this is another anti-Trump style thread, as all he has said is ''I'm not surprsed'' to initial link, and then a bunch of Obama / Trump comparisons.

So no offence to Zhong, he has every right to start whatever thread he wants, but you Americans can argue this one. I have enough shit on with Brexit BS.

Everyone has the right to a minimum quality of life (food, clean water, housing, freedom of speech and travel, freedom of excessive servitude/slavery).  No person shall live in excess until the least among us have the minimum.

Respect for others, valuation of life.

Helping others doesn't even need to be altruistic, seeing poverty and/or being a victim of crime is unpleasant.  Rich people clean up homelessness quick if it is literally in their backyard. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emotional_contagion
