They're planning on in ceasing operations in the UK North Sea only. Not in the US!

Er, notice the context, "U.S. oil producer Apache plans to cease oil production at its assets in the UK North Sea by 2030, due to the windfall tax on operators." Less oil supplies = restricted gasoline = upward pressure on oil and gasoline prices = political repercussions. Those darned political repercussions can be real nasty.

You need to LIVE in reality. You might have cut yourself off from all kinds of things, including news and social activity, by retiring early? Where is your source of info? Virtual world? Do a simple maths for me: How many products Tesla has? Which one is making profit? Tip: Profit = income ( how many cars sold & paid for completely by cash) - expenses ( operational & capital investment) SpaceX has its own account with generous payers. Not counted as Tesla. Elon is a very lucky person. Grew up at air force base since young has shaped part of him. People like his soft, make-sense and well spoken status, despite potential negativity caused possibly by clones. How important to be liked...

Oil production will drastically decline in Iran and UK. The fact remains they plan on ceasing oil operations. Some theoretical political repercussions down the road don't matter now. It's not like Apache is running for re-election. You also fail to notice that oil and gas demand is down. There is no "upward pressure."
