In the first ruling of its kind nationwide, a Montana state court decided Monday in favor of young people who alleged the state violated their right to a “clean and healthful environment” by promoting the use of fossil fuels. Want to know how your actions can help make a difference for our planet? Sign up for the Climate Coach newsletter, in your inbox every Tuesday and Thursday. The court determined that a provision in the Montana Environmental Policy Act has harmed the state’s environment and the young plaintiffs by preventing Montana from considering the climate impacts of energy projects. The provision is accordingly unconstitutional, the court said. “This is a huge win for Montana, for youth, for democracy and for our climate,” said Julia Olson, the executive director of Our Children’s Trust, which brought the case. “More rulings like this will certainly come.” The sweeping win, one of the strongest decisions on climate change ever issued by a court, could energize the environmental movement and usher in a wave of cases aimed at advancing action on climate change, experts say. The ruling — which invalidates the provision blocking climate considerations — also represents a rare victory for climate activists who have tried to use the courts to push back against government policies and industrial activities they say are harming the planet. In this case, it involved 16 young Montanans, ranging in age from 5 to 22, who brought the nation’s first constitutional and first youth-led climate lawsuit to go to trial. Those youths are elated by the decision, according to Our Children’s Trust.

wat? Here is the Oak Ridge National Labs/DOE's model, which is about as frontier as one can get: https://github.com/E3SM-Project It sounds like you are misinformed. CTF is all about publishing open data, open source, and public grand challenges, not statistical summaries. It's the norm in Computer Science and any Computational Sciences.

There isn't a single "scientific method". Comparing the cultural habits across various sciences might surprise you. However, in contemporary times, reproducibility and variants of the Common Task Framework have become the gold standard. It's noteworthy that this framework is known by various names and terminologies in different fields: https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/10618600.2017.1384734#s0006 Its mainstream adoption can be observed here: https://stats285.github.io/2018/assets/lectures18/Lecture-01-20180925.pdf The CTF method significantly improves transparency, lowers barriers to entry, and hastens scientific progress. Furthermore, it counteracts the stagnation and resultant confusion (often referred to as 'perplexity') that previously impeded the advancement of knowledge — a core objective of science. This is most evident in the swift developments of modern AI and the breakthroughs witnessed during the pandemic.

So you admit glacial collapse is happening (just slower). You admit the planet is warming (just slower) Weather is not climate. However, If you want to talk about weather you would have noticed record setting heat waves this year. Then you bring up religion in a science discussion. How has "thoughts and prayers" worked out at reducing school shootings? Try again, fail again denialist.

That's very much part of economics, and those are elected governments for the most part elected who pass those measures. It'a like economic situations where for example, uninformed tourists feed the wild animals in national parks, thereby killing them, and ruining tourism. In those situations, we elect governments to regulate such behavior by attempting to inform those tourists, or penalizing such behavior. Such types of laws are part of every democracy in different areas that have an effect on economics.

The price of EV's is dropping fast. I agree a premium Tesla is out of most peoples reach but there are now cheaper models priced similar to ICE. You love to point out they are pilling up on the lots, that means pressure to make them even cheaper. You also like to point out oil demand is rising. High EV supply decreases prices; high oil demand increases prices. Both factors swing in favour of increasing EV adoption. I will, however, agree the poor and lower middle class will not adopt EVs quickly as they make crappy financial decisions! Plenty of evidence that EV's should net save you money over the life of the vehicle.

Dude, stop replying to an ignorant of basic physics EMS spectrum and black body radiation. It is hopeless. He is a cult member

Because you struggle with words sometimes: con·found verb mix up (something) with something else so that the individual elements become difficult to distinguish.

Man, you just got owned. Go and fill your gas tank, drive around the area and ENJOY your fossil fuel vehicle.

It clearly shows the impact of CO2, you should stop posting it.

Generally looking for p<0.05. You "proved" nothing. You found a paper that was wrong, that is not evidence of anything. Remember you believe most papers are wrong.

Study shows food and housing are the dominate strains on household budgets. Ecocharger then interprets that as "Buying cigarettes has an insignificant effect on fiances. Therefore, continue wasting money. Food and housing are the real problem."

I have presented above many scientists who have successfully challenged the CO2 belief, but you were silent and not interested in discussing the contents. You are already enveloped in the pseudo-science cult of CO2 and not open to science discussion, as I showed you above. Thank you for confirming my diagnosis of your circumstances.

The charging times are enormous for EVs, many many hours of charging, a huge drain on the electrical supply system. There are no fast chargers, just a myth about them. And all this bother for no good reason. Utter foolishness.

You sound like a high achievement third world human living on the fringe of society. One of those dynamics would be a falsehood...Plugging in a EV with a extension cord, perhaps you might attempt to afford a power station....dream large have a great night of rest.
